How to measure a parcel properly
Measure the parcel after it's packed, not the item. Squishy mailing bags still count at their fullest point, so measure the thickest part once the item is inside.
- Length: the longest side
- Width: the next longest side
- Height (depth): the shortest side
- Weight: weigh the packed parcel; kitchen scales are fine up to a few kilos
Round up. A parcel that's 16.4cm deep is not a Small Parcel, and carriers can charge the difference or return it.
Sending Vinted parcels
On Vinted the buyer pays postage, but you still have to hand over a parcel that fits the size you chose when listing. If it doesn't, the carrier can reject it or charge extra. Most clothing folds into a Royal Mail Small Parcel or an InPost Small or Medium locker. Shoes in their box usually need Medium.
Vinted caps standard items at 2kg whichever carrier you use. Heavier items (Vinted marks some categories as heavy) can go up to 15kg with Evri or 20kg with Royal Mail.
Large Letter or Small Parcel?
A thin, flat item under 2.5cm deep and 750g can go as a Royal Mail Large Letter, which is much cheaper than a parcel. T-shirts, leggings and thin jewellery boxes often fit. Use a hard-backed envelope and check the depth: a slot gauge at the Post Office rejects anything over 2.5cm.

Up to 45 × 35 × 16cm and 2kg. Anything bigger, up to 61 × 46 × 46cm and 20kg, goes as a Medium Parcel.
What is the maximum parcel size for Vinted in the UK?
It depends on the carrier you pick. InPost takes up to 64 × 41 × 38cm, Royal Mail up to 61 × 46 × 46cm, and Evri up to 245cm length plus girth. For standard items all three are capped at 2kg on Vinted.
How do I work out length plus girth?
Length is the longest side. Girth is the distance around the parcel at its thickest point: twice the width plus twice the height. Add the two together. A 50 × 30 × 20cm box is 50 + 2×30 + 2×20 = 150cm.
Does it matter which way round I measure?
No. The checker sorts your measurements so the longest side is compared with the longest limit, the way carriers measure.
What size is an Evri small parcel?
Up to 45 × 35 × 16cm and 2kg, the same as a Royal Mail Small Parcel. Bigger parcels up to 15kg can go with Evri as long as the longest side is under 120cm and length plus girth is under 245cm.
