Etsy stacks several fees on every sale. There's a listing fee each time a listing goes up or renews, a transaction fee on the price plus shipping, and a payment processing fee on the total the buyer paid.
Offsite Ads are the big variable. If a sale comes through one of Etsy's external ads, you pay an extra percentage, capped per order. You can't opt out once your shop passes a sales threshold.
UK sellers also pay a regulatory operating fee, and VAT on all fees unless they're VAT registered.

Keeping more of each Etsy sale
- Charge enough shipping to cover postage and the fees on it, because the transaction fee applies to shipping too.
- If most of your sales come from Offsite Ads, build that fee into your prices rather than treating it as a surprise.
